CURRENT RESEARCH
Decompensated Cirrhosis
Our research focuses on hospitalized decompensated cirrhosis patients in Ontario using the GEMINI & ICES data collectives. We assess influential factors in care delivery (spanning sociodemographic, clinical, and regional characteristics) and predictors of patient-relevant outcomes (including mortality, re-admission, and days-at-home). Using a learning health system approach, insights from this work can be fed back to care providers and hospitals to improve decompensated cirrhosis care delivery.

Autoimmune Liver Disease
Autoimmune liver diseases - including primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), and autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) - are rare but life-altering conditions. Our research is focused on deepening understanding of disease patterns, progression and lived experience in the Canadian context, with the goal of driving improvements in care, outcomes, and quality of life.
